Assistant Construction Manager

Job Description

Job Description Summary:

Organize hand off from pre-construction coordinator to project manager once permit is issued and before construction begins. Support project managers, and act as a liaison between the clients and project managers. Price out and issue change orders, update schedules, attend site meetings and create meeting minutes for clients. Manage job logs and job books for project managers. Evaluate budgets and schedules for analytic tracking.

Qualifications/Skills requirements:

  • High school degree or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in construction management or construction administration
  • Highly organized
  • Outstanding written communication, verbal communication and customer service skills
  • Excellent multi-tasking and time management abilities
  • Ability to create construction schedules
  • Ability to read and interpreting blueprints
  • Understanding of building materials and methodology
  • Possess a valid Florida Driver’s license
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Project

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Act as support system for project managers
  • Create then update construction schedules
  • Manage job logs and job books
  • Manage purchase order system
  • Attend site meetings with clients and project managers then issue meeting minutes
  • Attend weekly production meetings and issue meeting minutes
  • Schedule inspections with municipality
  • Price and issue change orders to clients, then manage change order logs
  • Update and maintain workload schedules for upcoming and current work
  • Communicate with governing municipalities, power and water companies for project manager
  • Work with governing municipalities to meet all Certificate of Occupancy requirements
  • Manage job close out and warranty book
