Associates' degree in business, finance, information technology or related field.
Background with retail business operations, including:
Inventory
Purchasing
Ordering
Reporting
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for reporting purposes.
Ability to provide customer service to students and faculty.
Plusses:
Bachelors' degree preferred.
Past work experience in a Higher Education environment.
Demonstrated history of business development and financial management.
Previous oversight of retail technical support of end user related technology hardware and software.
Previous ticketing experience
Basic troubleshooting such as password reset and internet connectivity
Experience with Visual Merchandising best practices.
Experience with retail Point of Sale (POS) systems.
Day to Day:
Insight Global is seeking an Assistant Manager for the Computer Store of our client in Higher Education. In this role, you will contribute to the tactical leadership, strategic leadership, service management, and inventory management of the University's computer store under the direct supervision of the Store Manager. You will provide monthly reporting for sales, inventory, financial transactions while working closely with Shared Services, the Cashiers’ Office, University Auditors, and Procurement teams.
Responsibilities
Aiding the Store Manager in the strategic and business development of the Computer Store. You will help develop and devise ways for the Store to focus and succeed in a technology-diverse ever-changing business environment.
Collaborate closely with the Store Manager on improving the visual marketing of the space, from services to operating models to space design to strategic partnerships to contingencies.
Work closely on providing training and development for the Store staff. This includes the tech staff, sales staff, and student staff. This position will help coach and mentor the Store staff.
This position will collaborate closely with vendors and strategic partners in helping to provide the best possible solutions and services for our customers.
Serve as a “Deputy” to the Store Manager, being able to perform (the bulk of) the duties of the Store Manager when the Store Manager is otherwise unavailable/incapacitated.
Compensation:
$16/hr to $22/hr.
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
