This Assistant Coach for Strength & Conditioning assists the Associate Athletics Director for Strength & Conditioning in all phases of the Strength & Conditioning program at the university. This program aims to promote injury prevention and performance enhancement through the implementation of science based, sport-specific training techniques. In this role, you will: support the design and implementation of sport-specific exercise prescriptions and performance evaluation protocols; instruct student-athletes in the proper and safe techniques of several strength and conditioning activities; and counsel student-athletes in sport performance enhancement strategies. The Assistant Coach also contributes to facility maintenance and supervision.
This is a full-time, 10-month position. The salary range for this 10-month position is $52,212 to $53,012 and final offer will depend on relevant experience, skills, and qualifications. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

Success Factors
- Expertise in demonstrating a variety of strength, agility, speed, and conditioning exercises, drills and techniques with student athletes across several sports programs.
- The ability to manage multiple competing priorities and anticipate needs of a program.
- Effective interpersonal and customer service skills to clearly communicate both verbally and in writing with a variety of constituents and be poised to serve as a good steward of the university.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or related field.
- Knowledge of the development, implementation and administration of strength, conditioning, speed, flexibility, and sport performance testing programs.
- Current certification by the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association (CSCCa) as Strength and Conditioning Coach Certified (SCCC), or the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialists (CSCS).
- Experience in and/or demonstrated commitment to supporting diversity, equity, access, inclusion, and wellbeing.
- Experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
- Ability to cultivate and develop inclusive and equitable working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and community members.
- Master’s degree preferred in Exercise Science/Kinesiology or related field
- Previous collegiate strength and conditioning coaching experience
- USA Weightlifting Sport Performance Coach Certification
