We are seeking a highly motivated Assistant Coach of Men's Basketball with a passion for the sport and a commitment to supporting the development of student-athletes both on and off the court. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with the Head Coach in all aspects of program management, player development, recruiting, and game strategy.
Essential Responsibilities:
Assist with the recruitment and retention of qualified student-athletes to compete in the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) while representing one of the top programs within the conference.
Assist with the administration of the men’s basketball program as determined by the head coach.
Assist with adherence to the program’s operational and recruitment budget.
Assist with alumni outreach and development as determined by the head coach, including but not limited to opportunities to meet, invitations to appropriate team activity, and other stewardship.
Understand and follow the rules, regulations, and protocol of the University, GLVC, and the NCAA.
Minimum Qualifications
Strong knowledge of basketball fundamentals, strategies, and techniques.
Previous coaching experience or team leadership role as an athlete.
The ability to effectively teach team and individual skills connected with team and player development.
Four-year college education
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Commitment to the academic and personal development of student-athletes.
Willingness to travel and work evenings and weekends as required.
