Position Summary
This is a full-time, twelve-month position that assists the head coaches of both programs in the planning, practice, and game scheduling and coaching of both the men’s and women’s soccer teams while adhering to Pennsylvania State Athletic Association ( PSAC ) and NCAA regulations. Must be able to support and promote the University’s Mission. Instruction will consist of 70% of the position time, while the other 30% will be dedicated to other essential functions of the position.
Essential Functions
Education: A bachelor’s degree; working knowledge of PSAC and NCAA regulations. Must be able to pass the NCAA educational modules on an annual basis.
Experience: Collegiate coaching or playing experience, with an ability to recruit.
Skills: Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills; demonstrated organizational and time management skills; and the ability to effectively teach and coach soccer skills (specifically goalkeepers) and strategy.
Licenses and Certifications: A valid driver’s license in good standing. Per Gannon’s Institutional Policy Manual there can be no suspensions on the Motor Vehicle Record for 5 years prior to being hired.

Preferred Qualifications
Strength and conditioning certification.
Physical Demands
Must be able to meet the physical demands associated with an intercollegiate athletic team. Work is performed in a busy office, field instruction and University setting.

Essential Functions
- Assists with all on- and off-field soccer instruction; evaluates players while providing instruction, more specifically, goalkeepers. Must be able to instruct, evaluate, and recruit goalkeepers.
- Evaluates prospective recruits athletically and academically.
- Monitors, educates, and advises all student-athletes concerning expectations in the classroom, during competitions and practices, and within campus and community living.
- Establishes prospect’s NCAA eligibility in concert with the athletic department’s compliance office.
- Trains, strengthens, and develops all student-athletes; in compliance with all NCAA Division II and PSAC rules and regulations.
- Assists with game day strategies of both the varsity and developmental teams.
- Assists with the operation and instruction of camps and clinics.
- Coordinates team and recruiting travel.
- Serves as the first assistant of the developmental team, inclusive of driving vans for developmental team games.
- Performs other duties as assigned within the scope and responsibility, and requirements of the position.
