Assistant Buyer

SS&PF is a locally owned business founded in 1976 and located North Salt Lake, Utah. Our plant consists of 18 acres and includes

100,000 square feet of production area. With nearly 100 teammates, we fabricate both simple and complex projects for the western

US industrial market.

SS&PF needs a competent assistant buyer who can work with purchasing, account managers, ownership, and executive

management with purchasing, inventory, and shipping. Responsibilities would include, but not be limited to:

1. Assist with estimating material pricing for bids with both current and potential vendors.

2. Assist with purchasing materials for production jobs and other items needed at facility

3. Assist with shipping including but not limited to arranging freight or any other needs of the shipping supervisor

4. Assist purchasing manager with anything additional that is needed.

5. Help lead a team tracking inventory and raw materials.

6. Receive raw material into Tekla from same day deliveries.

7. Update transactions from productions tickets into job files

Requirements

• EDUCATION: AS, AAS, BA, or BS in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related experience

• EXPERIENCE: 2-5 Years relevant experience in an industrial facility or plant

• APPTIUDE:

o A high level of computer acumen

o Good learning dexterity

o Ability to both develop and manage systems

Preferences

• 3+ Years of procurement experience in a fabrication shop or steel warehouse

• Working knowledge of Teckla EPM or PowerFab

• Strong multitasking abilities

• Team-Oriented Individual

• Freight Experience

Compensation

• Hourly | $36.06 -$45.67 Hr.| $75,000 - $95,000 Annual

• Hiring bonus of $15,000 paid over 18 months.

o $2000 at 3 months | $2500 at 6 months | $3000 at 9 months | $3500 at 12 months | $4000 at 18 months

• 401K savings plan with discretionary company profit sharing (5-year historical average for profit sharing contributions is 3%)

• Vacation will be three weeks, or fifteen business days. During the first year of employment this vacation is to be used at no

more than eight days in the first six months

• Every other Friday off

o A week: 4 x 9-hour shifts Monday through Thursday

o B week: 4 x 9-hour shifts Monday through Thursday | 1 x 8-hour shift on Friday
