Worcester Academy, a day-boarding school with grades 6 thru PG, seeks an Assistant Athletic Director who is committed to providing our student-athletes with meaningful learning experiences both on and off the playing field. We are looking for an individual who can support our coaching staff in developing thoughtful and meaningful experiences for our teams. The successful candidate in this role will understand the value of working cooperatively and collaboratively with adults in a team-based setting as well as have the ability to work independently. We are looking for an individual who embraces a growth mindset for their own professional development and who can help coaches and students to do the same.
This position reports to the Athletic Director.
Roles And Responsibilities
General
Assist in the planning and execution and supervision of all athletic events including practices, games, and tournaments ensuring they run smoothly and safely
Manage all details of the scheduling of athletic competitions in both the Upper and Middle Schools including coordinating travel arrangements and the assigning of game officials
Collaborate with the Athletic Director and the leadership team to support the strategic growth and development of our athletic programs in alignment with Worcester Academys mission and values
Partner with the Athletic Director to develop and implement department policies and procedures and provide leadership and support to coaches, athletes, and parents in promoting teamwork and sportsmanship
Support the Athletic Director in the hiring, training, and supervision of athletic department staff and foster a positive and collaborative work environment within the department
Purchase athletic equipment and uniforms in collaboration with the Athletics Department
Provide content to the Worcester Academy Communications department to be shared on for social media and the Worcester Academy website
Foster a positive and collaborative work environment within the department
Maintain mature and age-appropriate judgment and boundaries and serve as a role model for students and colleagues and maintain and environment that fosters inclusion and respect
Coach at least one season
Required Experience
Desired Qualifications and Skills:
Education/Licenses
Minimum: Bachelors degree
Valid CPR/First Aid certification
Experience
Previous experience managing the administrative functions of an athletic program preferred
Athletics coaching experience is highly desirable

Ability to drive Worcester Academy bus to and from sporting events
This position is classified as an 11-month position.
An 11 month employee will receive all scheduled breaks off during the school year. They will have the month of July off every year; they must work the full month of June and the full month of August. They will receive 11 days PTO
