Assistant Athletic Director

Midland University, a private, faith-based, liberal arts university in Fremont, Nebraska (just outside of Metro Omaha), seeks an Assistant Athletic Director. Under the general supervision of the athletic director, the assistant athletic director assists the directors with various administrative responsibilities while performing internal duties within the athletic department.

Job Responsibilities

  • Ensure student eligibility and compliance by following all NCAA, NAIA, conference, and university rules, requirements and regulations
  • Prepare regular training and educational programming for student-athletes regarding compliance roles/policies and initiatives
  • Assist the day-to-day operations of the athletic department
  • Assist in monitoring the operating and recruiting budgets
  • Collaborate with the business office regarding team budget items, gear, travel and equipment
  • Support for at-risk student-athletes and student-athlete discipline
  • Collaborate with admissions, registrar's office, and other academic/student affairs offices to ensure student-athlete success
  • Facilitate events, arranging game personnel, ticketing operations, officials hosting, and coordination of game day set up through equipment/facilities managers
  • Work with new coaches and graduate assistants to develop professional and personal goals
  • Provide administrative oversight for selected sports teams
  • Collaborate closely with the Student-Athlete Advisory Council
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Education Requirements/Preferences

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule including some nights and weekends
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel

Ability to effectively communicate orally and in written form via email; maintain confidentiality; customer service skills; time management skills; self-motivation; organizational skills; computer skills. Compensation
