The Department of Sciences and Mathematics invites applications for a full-time Assistant/Associate Professor in Biology, starting August 15, 2024. The successful candidate will teach upper-division courses in cellular/molecular biology, genetics, and biochemistry, as well as introductory biology courses in the general education curriculum. A commitment to integrating faith into teaching, scholarship, and service is essential for this role.
Qualifications
Ph.D. in biology or a related field, with a focus on cellular/molecular biology, genetics, microbiology, or biochemistry.
Demonstrated ability to teach both lecture and laboratory courses.
Evidence of teaching excellence using various modalities—in-person, remote, and hybrid.
Experience working with a diverse student population.
A promising research agenda that supports undergraduate education is desirable.
Primary Duties And Responsibilities
Teach 12 units of undergraduate courses each fall and spring semester.
Prepare and teach undergraduate lecture and lab biology courses, including but not limited to introductory biology, cellular/molecular biology, genetics, and biochemistry.
Advise and mentor undergraduate biology majors.
Support the department in curriculum design, program assessment, and student recruitment.
Serve on faculty committees.
Attend department meetings and professional development activities.
Ensure timely completion of assessments, grades, and other reports.

Support the needs of other departments as necessary.
Perform other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor.
