Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor, College of Law, Fall 2025

THE UNIVERSITY OF TENNESSEE COLLEGE OF LAW invites applications from both entry-level and lateral candidates for one full-time, tenure-track faculty position to begin at the start of the 2025-26 academic year in the areas of criminal law and criminal procedure.

The Knoxville campus of the University of Tennessee is seeking candidates who have the ability to contribute in meaningful ways to the diversity and intercultural goals of the University. The University of Tennessee, Knoxville, is an R1, land-grant university located in Knoxville, Tennessee. Candidates must hold a J.D. or equivalent law degree and have a strong commitment to excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service. Successful applicants should have an impressive academic background. Significant professional experience is desirable. The successful applicant will be appointed to a rank commensurate with their research, teaching, and service record. In particular, candidates for Assistant Professor should have a demonstrated potential to succeed as a junior faculty member at a state flagship campus such as the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Candidates for Associate Professor should have a demonstrated record of thoughtful and effective teaching, continued engagement in scholarship, and engagement in their professional community. Candidates for Professor should have a record of teaching excellence, exceptional scholarly achievement, and distinguished service.
