The Opportunity

The Assistant Designer primary responsibility is to support the development process of private label product for QVC and HSN Proprietary / Collaboration Brands. This role will assist in interpreting the brands direction to design and source product appropriate for the target customer.

Reporting to the Sr Designer, you will be responsible to support all aspects of the product design process including market research, sketching, materials, trims and color selection from concept through final approval. You will assist the Sr Apparel Designers and Apparel Designers in preparing for product meetings, creating presentation boards, data entry, receiving and sending out packages, logging samples into FLEX PLM system and special projects as needed.

Your Impact

  • Maintain awareness of seasonal trends.
  • Supports SR Designer in developing seasonal color palettes.
  • Manage tech pack creation and in putting design details and sketches.
  • Maintain and update development documentation in FLEX PLM and support the design team through the design and sourcing process, capturing all changes.
  • Create flat sketches for designed apparel styles.
  • Review color approvals and material standard submits to maintain standard fabrics and ensure materials meet the intended design need.
  • Create flat mechanical sketches for all styles for development packages (to technical design and overseas.)
  • Adhere to the seasonal time and action calendars.
  • Assist in the tracking and approval of fabric samples, lab dips, strike-offs and other development materials.

What You Bring

  • Bachelors degree in Fashion Design, Textile Design or Fine Arts.
  • 0-3 years of industry experience.
  • You are comfortable coming to office 3-4 days per week.
