Asset Protection Associate - D2 Dispensary - Downtown

About the role:

The Asset Protection Associate is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure working environment for all employees, vendors, and visitors onsite. AP Associates will follow security protocols for welcoming visitors in, deescalating situations, and responding to concerns or emergencies. Duties will include maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of the facility.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Greeting and welcoming employees and visitors to the dispensary and direct them to the appropriate areas.
  • Ensuring proper identification of all individuals entering the premises.
  • Receiving and verifying shipments and deliveries, ensuring accuracy and adherence to procedures.
  • Monitoring the video surveillance system to ensure clear visuals and identify potential security concerns.
  • Responding promptly to any suspicious activity or breaches of security protocols.
  • Conducting regular checks of the dispensary’s perimeter and report any signs of unauthorized access or potential security risks.
  • Investigating and addressing any disturbances or concerns promptly according to company standards, escalating to the appropriate authorities when necessary.
  • Adhering to asset protection Standard Operating Procedures and comply with guidelines at all times.
  • Performing cleaning duties, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and restroom cleaning.
  • Emptying trash receptacles and ensure proper waste disposal.
  • Replenishing facility amenities and restroom supplies, such as soap, sanitizer, and toiler paper, as needed.
  • Following the facility’s cleaning schedule and SOPs and maintaining consistent standards of cleanliness and sanitation.
  • Taking on additional duties as assigned to support the overall operations and security of the dispensary.

What you need to succeed:

  • Knowledge of security protocols and procedures: Familiar with security best practices, SOPs, and protocols to ensure a safe and secure environment.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to greet and interact with individuals and clearly document incidents in accurate and detailed notes.
  • Video surveillance: Understanding of computers and video surveillance systems, including camera operation, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
  • Attention to detail: Strong observation skills and attention to detail to detect signs of unauthorized access, disturbances, or potential security risks.
  • Customer service: Ability to provide exceptional customer service when interacting with employees or customers and demonstrating professionalism and courtesy.
  • Security risk assessment: Ability to assess and identify potential security risks or vulnerabilities and develop strategies to minimize risks.
  • Compliance and regulatory knowledge: Understanding or willingness to learn state regulations related to cannabis security and dispensary operations.
  • Adaptability and flexibility: Willingness to take on any duties in relation to the operations and security of the dispensary and adapt to changing priorities in a dynamic work environment.

You should also have:

  • HS Diploma/GED required.
  • Must be minimum 21 years of age and pass a criminal background check.
  • Previous work experience required.
  • Experience in security, facilities, or similar role, preferred.
  • Unarmed Guard Card required, the company will provide necessary training and application assistance.
  • Knowledge of Arizona marijuana laws and regulations or willingness to learn
  • Must maintain current knowledge and adhere to all policy and regulations of AZDHS, HIPAA, and Arizona State.

Physical requirements:

  • Sitting or standing for prolonged periods of time.
  • Walking for extended periods of time while maintaining alertness and focus.
  • Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, or ramps.
  • Medium work that includes moving objects up to 50 pounds.

Hours: Full Time 40 hour/week, open availability, potential overtime opportunity

(a) A violent crime as defined in section 13-901.03, subsection B, that was classified as a felony in the jurisdiction where the person was convicted.

A.R.S. § 13-901.03 – B. For the purpose of this section, “violent crime” includes any criminal act that results in death or physical injury or any criminal use of a deadly weapon or dangerous instrument.

(b) A violation of a state or federal controlled substance law that was classified as a felony in the jurisdiction where the person was convicted but does not include:

(i) An offense for which the sentence, including any term of probation, incarceration or supervised release, was completed ten or more years earlier.

(ii) An offense involving conduct that would be immune from arrest, prosecution, or penalty under section 36-2811 except that the conduct occurred before the effective date of this chapter or was prosecuted by an authority other than the state of Arizona
