Assessment Counselor Supervisor

Operated by Methodist Home for Children in partnership with the Department of Public Safety, the Western Area Juvenile Crisis and Assessment Center provides a comprehensive juvenile assessment in a residential setting with the goal of matching the youth to the most appropriate services in his or her community. The Center serves Level II offenders between the ages of 10 and 17.

We are seeking an Assessment Counselor Supervisor for day shift, 7am - 7pm and night shift, 7p-7a.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

Assessment Counselor Supervisors provide hands-on supervision and training to Youth Care Workers (Assessment Counselors) who will provide care to youth being served by the Assessment & Crisis Center. Duties will include staff supervision, implementing direct care services, engaging youth in assessment activities, and monitoring all aspects of physical property.

Qualifications

  • At least 21 years old
  • Experience in a human services field, specifically with youth
  • Previous supervisory / staff management experience
  • Bachelors degree preferred, but not required

This position requires a valid NC driver's license, the successful completion of required screenings and trainings, and the ability to work a flexible schedule, including 12-hour shifts, weekends and holidays.

Vacation Leave: First partial calendar year of hire is pro-rated at 10 days (80 hours) per year
