Intermediate District 287 is seeking qualified candidates for an Interpreter position for our Itinerant Programs!
Our Interpreters are responsible for facilitating communication between deaf/hard of hearing students and others by interpreting in educational settings. This position will participate as a member of the educational team serving these students.
Position Details
Salary Range: $27.33 - $32.69 per hour DOE and E
July 1-25, Monday - Thursday
Elementary: 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM
High School: 7:30 AM - 10:30 AM
Requirements
Must have completed a training program affiliated with a state accredited educational institution AND hold one of either 1, 2, or 3.
Pathway 1
An interpreter and/or transliterator certificate awarded by the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID); OR
A general level proficiency certificate at level 3 awarded by the National Association of the Deaf (NAD); OR
Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) at the 4.0 level.
Pathway 2
Graduate from an accredited Interpreter Training Program AND
Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) with a score of 3.5-3.9
Current 2 year provisional certificate or interpreter extension AND
Willingness to participate in weekly mentoring
Pathway 3
Graduate from an accredited Interpreter Training Program AND
Current 2 year provisional certificate AND
Willingness to participate in weekly mentoring
