POSITION DUTIES
The main purpose of this job is to evaluate, plan, design, and implement Art Therapy services for forensic psychiatric patients at Clifton T. Perkins Hospital Center.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Determined by the Maryland State Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists under the requirements for Licensed Graduate Professional Art Therapist (LGPAT).
Experience: Determined by the Maryland State Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists under the requirements for Licensed Graduate Professional Art Therapists (LGPAT).
Desired Or Preferred Qualifications
Employees in this classification are subject to call-in, and therefore, will be required to provide the agency with a telephone number where they can be reached.

Desired Or Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of and/or experience in providing both group and individual treatment interventions in a psychiatric setting.
- Competence in providing therapeutic interventions from a trauma informed perspective
- Knowledge of and/or experience in adapting art therapy interventions to provide effective treatment for individuals of diverse abilities and needs
- Candidates placed in this classification must be licensed by the Maryland State Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists as a Graduate Professional Art Therapist (LGPAT). 2. Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties may be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland. 3. Employees in this classification may be required to successfully complete cardiopulmonary resuscitation training and maintain current certification. 4. Employees in this classification assigned to facilities with a swimming pool may be required to obtain Red Cross instruction and certification in Life Saving and Water Safety prior to permanent appointment.
