Title: Art Director IV - Photo Direction
Role: Ongoing contract, 6-Month Contract to start likely extensions
Location: Must be based in Chicago, IL Area (2 days onsite in Chicago, IL)
Pay: roughly $50ph W2 + Benefits (Swoon covers 50% of cost) *rate may fluctuate depending on experience/overall fit
Description:
As a Photo Art Director, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Creative Director and Senior Art Director in managing all photography-related aspects.
Your responsibilities will include:
Collaborating closely with stakeholders to educate them on the production aspects of a photo shoot, ensuring a cohesive understanding of the creative process and requirements.
Building comprehensive creative presentations to brief stakeholders on the upcoming shoots, effectively communicating your vision and the production strategy.
Developing detailed shot lists under the guidance of the Creative Director and Senior Art Director to address brand requirements and channel needs.
Assisting the Producer/Photo Manager in model selection, wardrobe direction, and potentially securing off-site venues, ensuring alignment with the brand's vision.
Providing detailed mood boards and creative direction to the Wardrobe Stylist for cohesive visual storytelling.
Partnering with the Creative Director and Senior Art Director to procure necessary props for photo shoots.
Actively participating in photo shoots, making on-set wardrobe selections in collaboration with the Wardrobe Stylist, and providing guidance to the photographer for capturing the desired shots.
Setting up shots and ensuring that the artistic vision aligns with the brand's aesthetics.
Curating and presenting shot selections to the Creative Director and Senior Art Director for review and approval.
Reviewing and approving proofs of photo corrections to ensure high-quality and consistent visual standards are maintained.
This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong creative direction skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively within a creative team to achieve the brand's visual objectives while engaging stakeholders in the creative process.
Required Skills:
5 - 8 + years of experience min
Must have enterprise client experience
Must have portfolio to share at time of submittal
Experience leading all elements of photography-related projects (End-to-End)
