The primary position of the Illustrator/Art Director on the events and experiences team is to support the creative leads vision across various multidisciplinary projects. Involves crafting visual content that improves the theme, message, and brings together the essence of the occasion, engaging attendees visually. A conceptual problem solver that delivers ideas on brand. Has the skills to quickly sketch ideas that align and improve the story being told. And is able to quickly turn an approved sketch into an illustration. Experience with working with different illustration styles. Often times collaborates with a team of designers, art directors, writers and subject area leads to develop a concept, a visual narrative. The ability to innovate and adapt to new styles, techniques, and processes.

Key Responsibilities

Concept Development:

Work closely with creative leads, event strategists and marketing teams to understand the event's theme, audience, and objectives.

Develop initial sketches and concepts that reflect the event's branding and intended message.

Illustration Creation

Produce detailed illustrations for various event materials, such as banners, posters, digital displays, promotional items, and graphics of various scale.

Ensure that all visuals are aesthetically pleasing and consistent with the event’s overall design language.

Collaboration

Collaborate with creative leads, designers, writers, creative media artists, and other creative team members to integrate illustrations into larger design elements.

Work with vendors and printers to ensure that the final printed or digital materials meet quality standards.

Often times collaborates with creative and strategy leads outside of the e&e team.

Adaptation And Innovation

Adapt illustrations to fit different formats and mediums, ensuring that the visual impact is maintained across all uses.

Stay updated with the latest trends in illustration and design to bring fresh and innovative ideas to event visuals.

Feedback Incorporation

Incorporate feedback from CD’s and partners to refine illustrations and meet the specific needs of the event.

Participate in meetings and presentations to showcase concepts and final designs to event teams and partners.

For Washington-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $121,800 to $167,400.

For California-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $132,800 to $182,600.

Compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Certain roles may be eligible for incentive compensation, equity, benefits.
