YOUR MISSION:

PUMA is seeking an Art Director with a Graphic Design background to work for Creative Services, our internal creative Agency, out of the Boston Office. The ideal candidate is a graphic design wiz with a taste for art direction. You should be as comfortable exploring layouts as you are directing a team on set, and happy to flex between the two—you can tackle both elevated design concepts and visual storytelling for campaigns including photo and video components. We’re looking for candidates who are culturally connected, with strong aesthetic sense and a real passion for arts, streetwear and fashion.   • Under the direction of the Senior Art Director, utilizes advanced design skills to create original solutions for consumer experiences, including OOH, Digital and Retail assets.
  • Support the development of design-only creative concepts by PNA production artists with creative guidance.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Art Director, Associate Creative Director, Planners, Content Creators, and Marketing Teams in the conception of both high- and low-production campaigns including photo and video.
  • Communicate and presents design and campaign creative concepts to the Senior Art Director and Associate Creative Director.
  • Work with Creative Services leadership and producers to plan and execute photoshoots, and other types of productions, including identifying and briefing external partners (photographers, videographers, animators, etc.), on-set art direction and overseeing the post-production asset selection and retouching process.
  • Collaborate with all marketing channels to execute ideas that deliver on best practice for full funnel creative including final assets for PR, Organic Social, Paid Media, OOH, Ecomm, In-store, etc.
  • Stay well-informed on all existing brand standards, including the Commercial Marketing guides, as well as industry and creative trends.
  • Contribute to Creative Services brainstorming sessions.
  • Act as a leader within Creative Services.

YOUR TALENT:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in graphic design or equivalent; experience in the footwear, athletic and/or apparel industry is a plus
  • 3+ years of progressive, technically sophisticated graphic design experience and top notch typography skills
  • 1-2 years of on-set art direction experience
  • Experience directing and overseeing both studio and location photo shoots under aggressive, time-sensitive conditions
  • Graphic Design focused background, with versatile creative suite skills including a high proficiency in Photoshop, InDesign, Bridge, and Acrobat on a Mac
  • A demonstrated ability to create concepts for still photography and video content
  • Working knowledge of both print and digital design production
  • Exceptional ability to see projects through all phases of implementation including concept ideation, design development, and production
  • Good understanding of the creative process, color theory, advertising design and video storytelling
  • Great presentation skills and effectively work with senior management to brainstorm, design and strategize the fulfillment of marketing executions
  • Ability to function autonomously and in a cooperative, diverse group
  • Domestic and International travel required; up to 30
