The Role: The 14Y Preschool is dedicated to nurturing children’s innate curiosity and fostering joyful learning within our vibrant community center. Our Reggio Emilia inspired approach emphasizes emergent curriculum and process-based making, intertwined with Jewish values. In our art studio, children engage in imaginative play, experimentation, and self-expression through various materials including clay, loose parts, watercolor, printmaking, sculpture, and more. We are currently seeking an experienced studio teacher to join our team, collaborating with both teachers and students to facilitate engaging visual arts exploration and play.

STUDIO DIRECTOR / ART TEACHER POSITION

Responsibilities

  • Teach small group, process-based art classes for all preschool classes.
  • Help organize, maintain, and order new art materials for the art studio.
  • Install and label documentation of children’s artwork for all classes.
  • Manage inventory, place supply orders, and take yearly Materials for the Arts trips.
  • Collaborate with teachers to support special classroom projects.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues.
  • Experience teaching 2-5-year-olds.
  • Commitment to creating an inclusive experience for all students.
  • Teaching experience in art education required; minimum of 2 years preferred.
