Area Operations Manager

Impact

As a remote Area Operations Manager, you will manage operations in the Michigan and Ohio subregion, ensuring Shipt has the right balance of shoppers and drivers each day to deliver products from our retail partners in a timely manner. Each day you will begin by reviewing data from the prior day: total number of orders, number of rescheduled or delayed orders, average delivery time, etc. You will review this information using data tooling software such as Snowflake or Tableau and Google Sheets. You’ll also review upcoming weather data, holiday calendars and statistics for specific stores, along with other key data to decide if any changes need to be made to upcoming delivery hours or incentive arrangements given this new information. You’ll deep dive into your market and partner cross functionally to drive your business performance. Travel will be required at least once a quarter, visiting key metros to maintain retailer relationships and better understand issues facing shoppers on the Shipt platform, drivers and retail partners.

What You’ll Need to Be Successful

• You have completed coursework in data analytics or statistics that taught you how to use patterns and trends to solve problems.
• You have a minimum of 5 years of experience using data tooling (SQL, Tableau/ Looker/Thoughtspot (or comparable), and Excel/Google Sheets) to solve problems in an operational role in an on-demand, retail or startup environment.
• You feel confident engaging with shoppers to gain knowledge/feedback on how to improve local operations through focus groups, meetups, and surveys.
• Set incentive strategy and execution for shoppers and drivers in your subregion, as well as setting independent contractor onboarding targets and strategy analysis
• You enjoy building project plans, assign project ownership, and manage the success of project completion.
• Potential to manage up to two direct reports - Operations Coordinators - and develop their skills so they are continually gaining knowledge.
• A valid driver’s license and vehicle for local travel
  
  

Work Arrangement

Shipt considers candidates located near a Shipt office or workspace in Birmingham, San Francisco, or Minneapolis to be hybrid, which means that they have the flexibility to work from home (with leader approval) or at a Shipt office in order to facilitate the ability to innovate, collaborate, and spark team connections. In-office expectations will vary by role and leader. Certain roles may require in-office presence on a full-time basis. Other compensation includes eligibility for an annual bonus and the potential for restricted stock units based on role.

Metro Areas of Boston, District of Columbia, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle and New York City:

$86,357-$172,715

All other locations:

$72,035-$143,964

Please note that the salary range above is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies, and work location.
