Explain, demonstrate, and guide new staff to independently perform essential nursing objectives and tasks as outlined in the School Nurse Clinical Development Program, department procedures and board policy.
Guide the performance and professional growth of new staff by mentoring best practices, serving as a role model, providing leadership and demonstrating a commitment to excellence.
Utilize clinical competency skill checklist to communicate expectations regarding performance, policy and department procedures.
Complete and submit visit documentation to provide job specific feedback and identify any areas of improvement.
Support the work of campuses to provide health services in the absence of the assigned nurse.
Serve a a certified instructor for CPR/AED courses and Texas Department of State Health Services certified trainer in vision and hearing screening.
Performs all other tasks and duties as assigned.
Salary commensurate with education and experience
Selected individuals for Dallas Independent School District positions will be placed according to compensation guidelines. A campus-based employee may not assume a new position for which he/she was selected based upon the posting process until the end of the current semester, unless approved by the chief officer – Human Capital Management.
