Area Lead Nurse (185 Days) School Year 2024-2025

DESCRIPTION:

  • Explain, demonstrate, and guide new staff to independently perform essential nursing objectives and tasks as outlined in the School Nurse Clinical Development Program, department procedures and board policy.
  • Guide the performance and professional growth of new staff by mentoring best practices, serving as a role model, providing leadership and demonstrating a commitment to excellence.
  • Utilize clinical competency skill checklist to communicate expectations regarding performance, policy and department procedures.
  • Complete and submit visit documentation to provide job specific feedback and identify any areas of improvement.
  • Support the work of campuses to provide health services in the absence of the assigned nurse.
  • Serve a a certified instructor for CPR/AED courses and Texas Department of State Health Services certified trainer in vision and hearing screening.
  • Performs all other tasks and duties as assigned.

Salary commensurate with education and experience

Selected individuals for Dallas Independent School District positions will be placed according to compensation guidelines. A campus-based employee may not assume a new position for which he/she was selected based upon the posting process until the end of the current semester, unless approved by the chief officer – Human Capital Management.
