Position Summary

Area Asset Protection Manager (AAPM) protects company assets through execution of asset protection, inventory control, internal and external theft reduction programs. They also monitor surveillance equipment, identify, observe and apprehend internal theft suspects. Develop cases via Company Exception Base Reporting System. AAPM will work with Regional Asset Protection Manager in the implementation and oversight of Asset Protection initiatives. The AAPM maintains a high degree of integrity, honesty and professionalism in executing the responsibilities of their role. Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Conduct internal and external theft investigations.
  • Apprehend and interview individuals involved in malfeasance.
  • Comply with all federal, state and local laws, as well as company policies and procedures
  • Conduct Audits, making recommendations to prevent loss and improve profitability
  • Partner with Law Enforcement and prepare case reports for criminal prosecution
  • Heighten Store Asset Protection Awareness
  • Serve as liaison with district and regional personnel to identify and develop solutions
  • Work in a multi-unit environment
  • Complete thorough reports on all Asset Protection activity
  • Support Regional Asset Protection Manager with all Asset Protection initiatives
  • Ensure the implementation and effectiveness of Asset Protection strategies at store level
  • Testify in court and labor hearings resulting from Asset Protection activities
  • Ensure compliance with corporate policies and procedures
  • Inspect functionality of store Asset Protection equipment (EAS, CCTV, Alarm Systems, etc.)
  • Must be able to travel to all locations within assigned region of stores
  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Participate in the inventory taking process

Education And/Or Experience

  • College Degree (desired)
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ retail Asset Protection experience

Skills And Knowledge Requirements

  • Ability to work weekends, holidays and varied schedule
  • Ability to travel to varied work locations some air travel
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Ability to diffuse confrontational situations
  • Operational knowledge of CCTV, Exception Base Reporting and alarm systems
  • Multi-store Asset Protection experience
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Applications- Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Work requires a solid knowledge of business and an excellent command of the English language to effectively communicate with management, associates and customers.
  • Must have a high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations. Position continually requires demonstrated poise, tact, and diplomacy.
  • Must demonstrate an ability to think strategically, plan and organize effectively.
  • Must be able to maintain an exemplary degree of professionalism in all situations.
  • Requires a proficient analytical ability to gather and summarize data for reports, find solutions to various administrative problems, and prioritize work.
  • Results driven with demonstrated critical and creative thinking skills. Project management, time management, analytical and superior organizational skills required.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise discretion, confidentiality, and independent judgment with the ability to use compassion and diplomacy.
  • Proven ability to plan, organize, multi-task, set priorities effectively and efficiently to proactively respond to changing demands, from multiple sources.
  • The ability to execute directives with precision and consistency.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft office products is required.
  • This position requires up to 25% travel.

Physical Requirements

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk; or hear.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job may include close vision, distance vision and depth perception.
  • The incumbent must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to stand and or walk for long periods of time
