Job Overview

Are you passionate about design and eager to bring innovative architectural and engineering concepts to life? We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented CAD Designer to join our dynamic team. You will be responsible for using both manual and automated drafting and graphics systems to produce high-quality designs, schematics, graphics products, exhibits, plans, and specifications in support of our professional and technical staff.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Project Design Support: Provide responsive, quality support to architects and engineers on project designs.
  • Customer Graphics Support: Deliver responsive, quality support to customers to produce graphics products.
  • Maintenance Schematics Support: Assist maintenance supervisors in producing industrial schematics, flowcharts, and other maintenance tools.
  • Drafting and Design: Utilize CADD systems, PC-based software, and manual drafting techniques to prepare detailed architectural/engineering designs, engineering analyses, plans, and specifications.
  • Presentation Materials: Use automated and manual media, including GIS graphics, to produce a variety of presentation materials such as graphics, photographs, maps, and exhibits.
  • Data Input: Use a personal computer to input statistical data used to produce presentation materials.
  • Drawing Preparation: Prepare detailed scale drawings and accurate working drawings from rough design sketches or verbal and written instructions using computer-aided or manual drafting techniques.
  • Office Equipment Operation: Operate standard and specialized office equipment such as printers, copiers, drafting machines, PC workstations, cameras, and scanners to produce or reproduce documents.
  • Facility Surveys: Survey airport facilities to draft or revise technical drawings.
  • Calculations: Calculate square footage and other quantities.
  • Field Measurements: Perform field measurements and surveys.
  • File Maintenance: Maintain automated and manual files and records in a manner readily accessible to department personnel.

What You Need

  • Bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, or graphic design; OR
  • Associate degree in drafting or a related field, including a CADD practicum; OR
  • Four (4) years of experience in architectural or engineering CADD drafting.
  • Possession of a valid Class C driver's license.
