Independently performs detailed phases of architectural design work for a project of moderate size and complexity (e.g., a single-structure facility requiring interface and collaboration with various engineering disciplines). Must be fully competent in all conventional aspects of architectural design and be capable of planning and conducting tasks requiring independent judgment in the evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation and modification of standard architectural design techniques, procedures, and criteria. Has comprehensive understanding and application of principles, design, theories, concepts, and industry practices and standards. Performs work of moderately complex scope. Works under minimal supervision, participates in setting assignment objectives; work is reviewed for adequacy on completion.

Requirements

  • Requires a BS/BA degree in Architecture and typically 3 - 5 years related experience.
  • Professional Registration is required.
  • Experience and working knowledge of current Revit, AutoCAD and Microsoft office is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with rendering software is a plus.

  • Designs facilities and prepares architectural working drawings and related project documents.
  • Prepares project specifications, compiling and analyzing relevant data.
  • Must be knowledgeable and responsible for compliance with applicable federal, state, and local building codes and assist less experienced designers on code related issues.
  • Conducts site and construction inspections for information gathering purposes, preparing interpretive reports for management disposition.
  • Compiles information for proposal preparation.
  • May, plan, schedule, coordinate, and oversee the work of less experienced designers who assist with projects.
  • Reviews completed documents to ensure coordination with engineering disciplines.

The hiring/salary range for this position in California is $84,000 - $128,000 per year. Please note that this is a just a suggested framework and salaries could fall outside of this. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience amongst other factors.
