Heartland Builders, established in 1997, is an On-Your-Lot Custom Builder based in Grand Rapids, MI, with plans to expand to Holland, MI. We specialize in building on our clients' land and operate within a 75-mile radius of our offices. We specialize in new construction only, no remodeling.

Role And Responsibilities

• As an Architect/Architectural Designer at Heartland Builders, you will play a crucial role in personifying our core values and enhancing our architectural process. Your responsibilities will include:
• Develop extensive knowledge of architectural design software, including Chief Architect or Revit, and 3D modeling.
• Conduct interactive design sessions with clients, both in-person and virtually.
• Listen to clients' needs and communicate effectively to bring out the best in their vision.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to turn concepts into reality.
• Possess construction knowledge, including an understanding of building codes.
• Experience in drawing multiple styles of homes and understanding value engineering.
• Design a portfolio of plans with multiple elevations.
• Create a library of custom drawings/specifications for use on multiple plans.
• Translate site topography into a 3D model.
• Collaborate in a team environment.
• Position is based in Grand Rapids, though travel to the Holland office may occur
• This position requires work in the office; not from home
• This position may grow into a managerial position with oversight and training of others.
  
  

Qualifications

• College Degree Preferred.
• 5 years of Architectural Design experience preferred.
• Strong computer skills and the ability to learn new software quickly.
• Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Strong visualization and problem-solving abilities.
• Capability to manage multiple projects while maintaining exceptional organization.
• Ability to quickly establish a high level of trust and credibility with clients.
