What To Expect:

As an experienced Applications Engineer with a background in Gas Engine Controls, you will be responsible for supporting/leading the development and execution of control systems for power generation driven by reciprocating gas engines. One of your main focuses will be the retrofit and conversion of control systems to a broad range of programmable controls, with a focus on multipoint injection controls and associated gas valve equipment, as well as auxiliary control systems be they PLC’s, HMI’s, SCADA, AVR’s, protective relays, power management controls. We will want you to be able to take a project from conception through design and testing to onsite commissioning and all the necessary documentation on the way. Additionally, you will be responsible for inspecting and testing electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repairs.

What You Will Do:

  • Manage complex site applications from start to completion utilizing internal and third-party resources to meet the objective of delivering a system on time and on budget.
  • Supervise and develop junior engineers / field service engineers on specific tasks, especially related to gas engine applications.
  • Act as a specialist applications engineer in a consultant role (subject matter expert)
  • Develop new and special applications
  • Assist with developing standards and process to move company engineering forward
  • Take responsibility to be a product champion on multiple products and applications.
  • Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.
  • Troubleshoot problems with electrical machinery, systems and components.
  • Install new or replacing electrical and electronic components of electrical/electronic equipment and systems.
  • Design and test integrated systems for engine safety controls on board and land-based applications.
  • Maintain documentation of manuals, descriptions and electrical/electronic drawings.
  • Report work scope, all activities, findings and conditions with documentation in accordance with manufacturer specifications and company ISO standards.
  • Accomplish goals in accordance with company strategies and leadership competencies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

What We Need You to Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent and 5 years relevant work experience or 12 years relevant work experience in power generation, industrial automation or related industry.
  • Valid US Driver’s License and clean MVR
  • Valid Passport
  • An accepted master in the technical applications that company develops.
  • Automation Control Systems and Instrumentation experience.
  • PLC / HMI / SCADA programming experience.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office business software, Word, Excel, Power Point.
  • Demonstrated self-starting ability with good interpersonal skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills (in English a must, Spanish would be a plus).
  • Willing and able to travel, domestically and internationally (up to 25%)
