Role Title: Application Support Specialist 

 

FLSA Category: Non-Exempt 

 

Role Location: Remote 

 

Reporting Relationships: 

 

This position reports to the Vice President of Innovation. 

 

Role Summary and Responsibilities: 

 

The Application Support Specialist’s responsibilities include, providing technical and functional support relating to various applications and other system level software. Additionally, the role requires onboarding and training of new, expanding, and existing medical practices. This role requires a critical thinker with an eye for detail, who has excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. Must be a strong independent worker as well as a strong team player. Flexibility, professionalism, excellent communication skills, and the ability to train are crucial and required for this role. 

 

Key Responsibilities / Essential Functions: 

 

  • Provide support for issues, triage/resolution for clinical and support staff users. 
  • Develops/assists with account management and ongoing training of various office users. 
  • Evaluate clients’ workflows, documents and procedures for implementation and customized follow-up training. 
  • Assist with “out-of-the-box” technological initiatives and clinically forward-thinking projects. 
  • Correct errors and modify system configurations as necessary during the support cycle. 
  • Perform configuration changes, acceptance testing and training regarding upgraded systems.  
  • Some night and weekend remote support may be required. 
  • Perform other related duties as required. 

 

Non-Essential Functions 

 

  • Other duties, as assigned. 

 

Qualifications 

 

  • Must have minimum of 2 years of work experience with athenaOne. 
  • EMR/EHR implementations in a healthcare setting are preferred. 
  • Understanding of clinical workflows within an EMR is strongly preferred. 
  • Other EMR and athenaPractice experience a plus. 
  • Experience with Microsoft Word/Excel required. 
  • Associate degree or equivalent work experience preferred.  
  • Highly organized with keen attention to detail. 
  • Ability to work well in a team environment. 
  • High degree of professionalism and integrity. 
  • Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. 

 

Physical Requirements 

 

  • Mainly sedentary. 
  • Sitting at the desk most of the day. 
  • Standing or walking less than two hours per day. 
  • Lifting no more than ten pounds on rare occasions. 
  • Must be able to work at a computer and answer phone calls on a regular basis. 

 

Compensation is based on the level and requirements of the role. 

 

Salary within our ranges may also be determined by your education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and location, as required by the role, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
