Application Support Engineer

• Gain expertise in handling low latency financial market data, delving into the nuances of market data feeds and electronic exchanges.
• Engage with order data spanning various markets and asset classes.
• Provide support for systems processing this data for Surveillance and Regulatory Reporting functions.
• Utilize advanced analytics tools crafted by our dedicated team of developers.
• Harness cutting-edge technology stacks like AWS, Java 17, Python 3, HDF5, Kubernetes, and Argo.
• Embrace our remote-first policy, which accommodates remote, in-office, or hybrid work arrangements.

In this role, you'll:

• Manage crucial segments of a sophisticated data analysis pipeline.
• Monitor and troubleshoot production jobs, ensuring smooth operation.
• Address data-related issues raised by the system, investigating and taking necessary actions, including examining code.
• Collaborate with developers to identify optimal solutions and propose system enhancements.
• Respond to user issues via support channels, averaging 2-10 cases per day.
• Deliver L1 and L2 support to users and collaborate with developers on L3 support.
• Facilitate the onboarding of support processes for new development teams and applications as our support infrastructure expands.

We're seeking candidates with:

• Previous experience supporting, monitoring, and troubleshooting high-performance applications within the financial markets domain.
• Proficiency in supporting Linux environments.
• Familiarity with market data or order data systems.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting capabilities.
• Knowledge of transfer protocols for financial data (e.g., FIX, native protocols).
• Exposure to object-oriented programming languages; Java and Python skills are advantageous.
• Familiarity with version control software like Git or SVN.
• Experience with cloud computing, preferably AWS.
• Proficiency in SQL, encompassing query execution, updates, table creation, and basic database maintenance.
