Application Specialist

Position Summary: Responsible for supporting and managing AHIP’s line of business applications. Supported applications will include AHIP’s on-premise apps, as well as cloud and mobile apps. Works closely with Information Technology management, Help Desk staff, and Managed Service providers on the development, deployment, and support of these applications. Coordinates user training with vendors and conducts in-house end-user training.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Provides End User Support for all IT, Cloud, and Web-related applications.
  2. Manages user access for various applications (iMIS, Sage Intacct, etc.).
  3. Works with staff to identify areas of improvement in application usage.
  4. Works with application developers and IT management to ensure applications remain current, optimized, and configured using defined best practices.
  5. Creates and maintains AHIP-specific end-user documentation for all supported applications.
  6. Assists in generating and maintaining reports as needed.
  7. Interface with AHIP staff and external vendors to develop, implement, and manage data sharing between supported applications.
  8. Performs other tasks as required or assigned.

Minimum Education and Experience Required

  1. Bachelor’s Degree and/or equivalent experience.
  2. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in IT application support, including managing vendor support relationships.
  3. Experienced in providing customer service to end users.

  • Thorough knowledge of IT application troubleshooting.
  • General knowledge of hosting environments, cloud computing, and network infrastructure.

Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
