Apparel Production Assistant

Growing apparel company is seeking a production assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate with be a strong self-starter with excellent communication skills both written and verbal. In this role you support the production team and coordinate with Merchandisers, Designers, technical design, and sales as well as our overseas teams in China and India. The production assistant is a key player in the apparel production process of our line, ensuring that all aspects of pre-production are executed quickly and efficiently.

Responsibilities of the Production Assistant

• Communicate daily with overseas offices on women's apparel pre-production tasks.
• Prepare and maintain garment sample submission filing system.
• Track and manage sample/submit packages to/from NY to overseas team. This includes physical opening, checking, and distributing sample submits received.

Coordinate w/ NY Teams to review incoming garment sample submission and enter comments into internal PLM system.

• Manage flow of information between overseas and NY team
• Provide production support to the NY based production team as needed.
• Prepare outgoing packages.
• Perform any other related duties as assigned, contributing to the overall success of the production process.

Qualifications:

Proficient with Microsoft office i.e., Excel

• Must be comfortable with using computers/software (mainframe, AS400, PLM)
• Great interpersonal skills Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)

Able to prioritize and work under tight deadlines.

Must be organized and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment with shifting responsibilities.

• Extremely detail oriented.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Handle multifaceted circumstances with courtesy and professionalism.
• Reliable, flexible and requires minimal supervision.
• 1-2 years of apparel production experience is preferred.
• Related knowledge about textile and clothing is helpful but not required.

Salary: $45K- $65K
