TAG entered the veterinary market in September 2022 through the acquisition of AZPetVet. AZPetVet was founded in 1984 with the first practice (Arrow Animal Hospital). We have a rich history and identity, currently operating 22 animal hospitals around Phoenix, AZ. With the recent backing of TAG we are now in “Day 1” of what will be an exciting growth trajectory, including re-branding the business as Lovet in the coming months. This is a great opportunity to get involved in building the foundations for hypergrowth. AZPetVet is seeking an Analytics Manager to lead our efforts to turn data into insights and ultimately actions that improve business performance.


We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Analytics Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will be an expert in SQL and Tableau, with a strong background in data analysis, business intelligence, and data visualization. The Analytics Manager will be responsible for overseeing our data analytics operations, driving data-driven decision making, and providing actionable insights to various stakeholders within the organization.


This person will be a core member of our cross-functional data team, working with colleagues in data engineering, operations, finance, and strategy. This role will involve a combination of thought leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and hands-on execution. Responsibilities include:


KPI development

Co-create the overall data and analytics roadmap (which metrics are needed, source systems to incorporate, prioritization, etc.)

In partnership with data engineering, determine the business logic necessary to transform raw source data into meaningful KPIs for the business.

Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and security in all analytics processes and outputs.

Collaborate with colleagues across other TAG brands to understand best practices and points of similarity and difference vs AZPetVet.

Be the subject matter expert on all aspects of our KPIs (i.e. the person people go with their toughest questions.)


Analytics

Utilize SQL to extract, manipulate, and analyze large datasets from multiple sources.

Create, manage, and optimize advanced Tableau dashboards and reports to provide visual insights and track key performance indicators (KPIs)

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify business requirements and translate them into data-driven solutions.

Innovate on ways to deliver the right information, to the right people, at the right time, through the right channel.

Organize analytics outputs in logical ways to drive high usage throughout all levels of the organization.

Conduct in-depth data analysis to uncover trends, patterns, and actionable insights that drive business growth. Includes recurring and ad-hoc projects.

Continuously evaluate and improve existing analytics processes, tools, and methodologies.


General

  • Educate the organization on all aspects of data and analytics.
  • Present findings and recommendations to senior management and other stakeholders in a clear and compelling manner.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, best practices, and technologies in data analytics and business intelligence.


To be successful you’ll need to operate effectively as part of a smaller company, within a broader multi-brand and matrixed organization. Building relationships and trust throughout the entire organization is critical.


Requirements/Qualifications


  • Education Level: Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
  • Experience Level: 4-8 years as an Analytics Manager, Data Analyst, Business Intelligence Analyst, or similar role
  • Demonstrated experience with DBT (cloud or core) for building, testing, and documenting data models. Ability to lead and mentor teams in integrating DBT into data pipelines, promoting best practices and optimizing analytics workflows.
  • Proficiency in SQL, with the ability to write complex queries, optimize performance, and work with relational databases.
  • Advanced expertise in Tableau for data visualization and dashboard creation
  • Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts, ETL processes, and data integration techniques
  • Experience with other analytics tools and programming languages (e.g., Python, R, Excel, Power BI) is a plus.
  • Ability to explain complex analytics to a non-technical business and/or healthcare audience
  • Must be intellectually curious, inquisitive, thoughtful, and a good listener
  • Must demonstrate critical thinking skills with an ability to creatively develop varied solution sets to multi-dimensional problems
  • Resourceful and motivated self-starter
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task several complex projects with the flexibility to be proactive in a fast pace, ever changing environment
  • Presentation & Communication skills: must be able to (i) communicate (both written and oral) in a clear, concise, articulate fashion and (ii) when presenting work, demonstrate clear, concise articulation of proposed actions, illustrating opportunity, alternatives, considerations, recommendations, and associated economics
  • Limited travel is expected, although occasional work trips will be beneficial to understanding the business.
