Summary
An Analytical Chemist II will execute all aspects of daily business operations in the analytical instrumentation department and assist in standards preparation. An ideal candidate will work effectively with all team members to ensure that our customers receive on-time and accurate delivery of test results and services in alignment with our quality system requirements.
Responsibilities
Understanding of testing requirements and concepts
Prioritize and prepare all customer samples for analytical testing according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
Identify and assist in resolving anomalous events
Maintain accurate records for quality control samples.
Maintain accurate records for traceability through all department procedures
Responsible for calibration and verification of specific instruments and their accompanying records
Responsible for instrument maintenance procedures.
Responsible for preparation of analytical standards for laboratory use.
Requirements
2-4 years of work experience using either GC/MS, or GC-MSMS, with Mass Hunter software or equivalent.

This job operates in a professional office and laboratory environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally is occasionally exposed to hazardous material, fumes or airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals.
Work is performed primarily indoors in an office and/or laboratory setting. The noise level in the work environment is low to moderate.
The employee will be required to wear all appropriate safety equipment including lab coat and gloves. The employee will operate equipment properly as described in the owner’s manual and according to SOP specifications.
Position Type and Expected Working Hours
Some flexibility in hours is allowed, but the employee must be available during the “core” work hours of 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
