About The Position

Job Title: Analyst, Private Capital Solutions

Hiring Manager: Managing Director

Employment: Full-time

Location: Seattle, WA or New York, NY

Salary Range: $150,000 - $200,000

The Analyst will be a member of the investment team for the GQG Private Capital Solutions (PCS) group and will work closely with the portfolio managers and other PCS team members in managing the strategies of PCS. The Analyst will be tasked with facilitating the strong investment performance of the PCS investment strategies, supporting a positive and dynamic work environment, and building strong relationships with potential and current investors, clients, and partners.

The ideal candidate will possess a profound knowledge of and experience within the asset management industry, including the assessment, execution, and oversight of investments in private capital strategies and management. They should have a strong track record of collaborating with clients and partners. Additionally, the candidate should exhibit expertise in corporate finance, financial analysis, and research into investment managers and strategies, underpinned by relevant work experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Networking, origination and vetting of new investment opportunities.
  • Developing multiple forecast scenarios for investment opportunities.
  • Due diligence of opportunities and preparation of investment memoranda for the relevant Investment Committee(s).
  • Project management of a deal from start to finish, including management of internal resource and third-party service providers.
  • Management, oversight, training, and development of incoming associates.
  • Assisting in the negotiation, structuring, and review of legal agreements.
  • Developing and maintaining investment models, portfolio data, and supporting analytics.
  • Identifying key risks facing the portfolio and implementation of mitigating strategies / policies.
  • Preparing quarterly portfolio reports for the Investment Committee and Investors.
  • Networking, liaising, and maintaining of relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.

Key Skills

  • Ability to conduct industry research, formulate and critically evaluate investment theses, rigorously interrogate and analyze information, articulate opinions, and distil through report writing skills.
  • Solid understanding of asset management concepts, including investment management, operations and accounting functions, and various investment ownership structures.
  • Strong financial modelling skills. Preference for private equity modelling and structuring.
  • Problem-solving skills and an ability to create innovative investment solutions / structures.
  • Presentation capabilities and refined verbal and written communications skills.
  • Demonstrative initiative, complete tasks unaided and work well in a small team.
  • Sound business judgement and make decisions based on accurate and timely analysis.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 7 years of work experience.
  • Experience investing in alternative private capital investment strategies.
  • Prior experience should include responsibilities for research, origination, negotiation, structuring, and corporate finance transactions.
  • Significant experience performing complex financial analysis, modelling, company valuations.
  • Preferably will have MBA, Chartered Accountant (CA), Masters in Finance (or similar) and/or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designations.
