Job Description

We’re looking for an AML SAR Specialist to join our AML Operations team in Austin, Texas!

We’re opening a new location in Austin, so if you’ve got previous FINCEN SAR filing experience, love fighting crime, and you’re interested in joining one of the fastest growing FinTech companies, read on!

Your Mission

Wise has already pioneered new ways for people to transfer money across borders and currencies. Our customers can also manage their hard-earned money with the world’s first platform to offer true multi-currency banking.

In this role, you’ll add to that mission by:

  • Reviewing escalations from our AML and Fraud investigations teams
  • Summarizing investigation findings, analyzing payment activity and submitting suspicious activity reports to FinCEN (and upon need, to FINTRAC)
  • Conducting investigations and analysis in response to supporting documentation request related inquiries and 314b requests to ensure that regulatory requirements are met
  • Preparing escalations to global teams for suspicious activity reporting in other jurisdictions
  • Developing strong relationships with internal and external partners

Qualifications

A bit about you:

  • You have experience writing FinCEN Suspicious Activity Reports (SARS)
  • You’re accurate and pay close attention to detail
  • You enjoy owning your work, can operate independently, and take charge on projects when needed
  • You’re a clear communicator, persuasive, and adaptive to different audiences
  • You’re comfortable with feedback and being part of a team where ideas are shared and openness is valued
  • You’re fully fluent in English and have excellent verbal and written skills
  • You live in or are willing to relocate to the greater Austin area
  • You are already legally authorized to work in the US, as we cannot support Visas for this role

Even Better If You Have

  • Experience working at a startup or fintech company
  • Are fluent in any additional languages
  • Have worked on 314b information requests
  • Experience filing SARs to FinTRAC
  • Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (ACAMS) certification or similar 🎉

💸 Salary range starts from $62,500 annually, based on experience
