Your Areas of Accountability

Our business development associate will be responsible for co-developing and executing the strategic sales strategy for our firm. They work in collaboration with Owner and Principal, Jocelyn Prince and ALJP’s support team to meet engagement and revenue goals.

The Business Development Associate is responsible for a variety of deliverables including the following:

  • Preparation of proposals and responses to RFPs
  • Direct ALJP’s social media, website, and newsletter promotional strategy, in collaboration with our support team
  • Attendance at consultation and other sales related meetings
  • Conduct market research
  • Other related deliverables, as needed

Who Are We Looking For?

This role is ideal for someone who is self-directed with a flexible schedule who is interested in working with a start-up boutique firm. The person will be passionate about the firm’s mission to work towards a more inclusive and equitable arts and culture sector. The Business Development Associate will have effective oral and written communication skills and some experience with public speaking and persuasive writing.

While all not required, we encourage candidates to apply who have experience or familiarity with:

  • Sales, marketing and/or business development
  • Remote/hybrid work environments
  • Administrative tasks (i.e. scheduling, writing correspondence, budgeting)
  • Independent work
  • Consulting and client services
  • Meeting deadlines for deliverables and revenue goals
  • Anti-racism and inclusion, diversity, equity and access (IDEA) work
  • U.S. nonprofit arts and culture industry history, trends and best practices
  • Technology:
    • Google Workspace (i.e. Mail, Calendar, Docs, Forms, Slides and Sheets)
    • Airtable
    • Calendly
    • Zoom
How much are we paying and what are the perks?

  • $500/month + sales commission (at least 20 hours/month)
  • 100% remote work with flexible hours as an independent contractor
  • Opportunity for advancement within the company
