As an airplane pilot, you will conduct flight operations, transport personnel, and provide aviation support for various missions using advanced aircraft and navigation systems. Your role will involve executing precise flight maneuvers and ensuring the safety and success of missions with the expertise that comes from managing diverse flight missions, maintaining aircraft, and adhering to stringent aviation protocols.

SALARY LEVEL


Pay level for this position:

  • GS 14: $153,768.00–$191,900.00


Salary shown is the base salary for the grade levels. Salary is also commensurate with professional experience.


DUTIES

  • Handle domestic and international operation of complex multi-engine turbojet and turboprop aircraft within and outside the continental United States. These flights transport FBI and other government agency executive management, supervisory and technical personnel, and hazardous cargo (e.g., biological, chemical, explosive, and nuclear) to and from a wide variety of U.S. and international locations.
  • Act as pilot-in-command (PIC) and/or second-in-command (SIC) of two complex multi-engine aircraft: The Gulfstream G550 and the De Havilland Dash 8 Q400. Aircraft assignments may change due to procurement or divestment and are at the discretion of the SFOU Chief Pilot.
  • Perform all industry standard PIC/SIC duties for a flight from planning and execution to post flight.
  • Conduct and participate in after-action reviews.
  • Ensure that appropriate diplomatic clearances, country clearances, over flight permits and landing clearances are secured for the entire flight plan and at all foreign destinations; coordinate with U.S. embassy, defense attaché office, and customs officials in foreign countries.
  • Provide mentorship and training to other SFOU PIC/SICs as appropriate.
  • Perform program management duties within SFOU at the discretion of the SFOU chief pilot. These programs include, but are not limited to, safety, training, operations, modernization, and contract officer representative positions.


KEY REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Must have (or be able to obtain) a valid driver’s license.
  • Must be able to obtain a Top Secret Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) Clearance.
  • Must be willing to travel as required.
  • Must meet the FBI’s Employment Eligibility requirements.
  • Must be able to pass an FAA Physical.
  • Must be able to pass an FAA Class I Medical Physical (and maintain it while in the position).


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENTIAL REQUIREMENTS


EDUCATION

  • Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree or higher from a U.S.-accredited college or university.


CERTIFICATIONS

  • Candidates must hold a pilot certificate.


All degrees must be verified by submitting college transcripts.
