Responsibilities
The Department of Interior (DOI) CHS III program will be leading the way for Cloud Hosting and Applications Modernization across DOI and its subordinate bureaus. CHS III will facilitate migration of legacy on-premises applications to a modern, secure and scalable multi-cloud platform. From sensors in active volcanic regions to earthquake detection data, CHS III will be DOI's central cloud processing and data solution.
The Candidate will support the design and implementation of cloud-based AI solutions. The majority of the candidate's responsibilities will be developing cloud-based workloadds involving large-scale data sets, neural network models, machine learning and pattern recognition on AWS. In addition, the successful candidate will be working with individual science labs to determine requirements and feasibility of new AI workloads on AWS, either from scratch or migrating from on-prem environments. This individual should be familiar with migrating processes to AWS. Candidate will implement new AWS AI application CI/CD pipelines using Cloudformation and associated AWS Dev/Ops tools such as AWS CodePipeline. Candidate will be expected to collaborate with all stakeholders to bring about the success of the AI/ML processes.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
5 years with BS/BA; 3 years with MS/MA; 0 years with PhD or 9 years exp with HS Diploma/equivalent.
Candidate must be a US Citizen
Candidate must have an Active Public Trust or the Ability to Obtain one is required
Candidate must have at least one of the following certifications or be able to attain within 90 Days:
AWS Certified Developer - Associate
AWS Certified Machine Learning - Specialty
AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred experience with two or more of the following:
Skilled and Fluent in Python programming language

Target Salary Range
$86,000 - $138,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
