Descriptive Summary
The Agile Coach position is a critical role supporting a direct client and includes:
As an Agile Coach, you will be responsible for supporting the execution of the customer’s Agile Transformation. You will work with an Agile Release Train (ART) to ensure Agile best practices are implemented and used to drive toward program objectives. You will help build understanding, articulate concepts, and support training in Scaled Agile methodology.
Key Performance Indicators
Providing coaching and facilitation support.
Facilitating discussions, negotiating paths forward, and articulating agile-related material in line with the client’s agile best practices and vision.
Engaging in coaching and updating transformation-related deliverables (maturity models, recommendations, and managing metrics and assessments).
Improving the Agile maturity of engaged teams.
Engaging clients and building trust as a trusted advisor.
Delivering training content, workshops, and mentoring sessions to empower our teams with Agile best practices.
Gathering client/customer feedback.
Coaching and Facilitation:
Provide coaching and guidance to an ART comprised of multiple stakeholders and vendors in the Department of Veterans Affairs space.
Identify and address impediments to Agile adoption and recommend solutions
Act as a change agent, promoting Agile principles and values throughout the organization
Core Functions
Mentoring teams on Agile techniques like estimation, planning, and story mapping
Working with ART leads to analyze current systems and processes and design a strategy for adopting Agile best practices
Guiding the ART in how to stay on track with Agile techniques, fine-tuning their approach to ensure that overall strategy is being met
Leading Agile workshops for the ART, as well as for key stakeholders
Analyzing data to identify areas for improvement and inform coaching and training efforts
Maintaining and improving our client’s customized agile methodology
Maintaining subject matter expertise over the client’s methodology and similar methodologies and practices used within the client’s organization and elsewhere in the industry
Strong in-person and remote facilitation experience
Observing ART ceremonies and providing recommendations for client consideration

Consulting 101 (preparing before meetings, requesting peer review of all presentation materials, following up with customers if answers are not known/available at the time)

Setting meetings up 15 minutes prior, testing audio/video equipment, preparing printouts, providing meeting agenda and purpose, identifying the audience, catering to specific client needs, annotating action items, following through on agreed next steps
Minimum requirements
Active SAFe Program Consultant (SPC) 6.x accreditation
Minimum 5 years coaching, facilitating, and training/mentoring scaled agile teams through an Agile transformation
Minimum 2 years of coaching in a Federal Government environment
Preferred requirements
Hold an IC Agile ICP-ENT – Enterprise Agile Coaching Certification
Hold an IC Agile ICP-CAT – Coaching Agile Transformations Certification
Experience working on an Agile Release Train (e.g. RTE, Product Manager, Scrum Master, Product Owner)
Experience working in Scaled Agile and DevOps environments
Experience working with Digital.ai Agility (or other similar Enterprise Agile Planning tools)
Experience coaching organizations adopting Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) or financial systems
Experience coaching organizations with multiple clients, customers, and vendors – each of which are separate companies/entities
Contractual Requirements
MUST be a U.S. CITIZEN
Ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance
A bachelor's degree in business or a related field
