This individual will engage in a combination of On-the-Job Training (OJT), coupled with Mentoring under the guidance of experienced Aggregate Technicians and Supervisors, and Formal Educational Training through a local technical college. Classes will focus on the various skills needed for the typical Aggregate Service Technician. Upon satisfactory completion of the program, the Apprentice will receive the Aggregate Service Technician Certification from the Department of Labor.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Builds knowledge of dealer supported product lines, service standards, and procedures through on the job training, and keeps abreast of all changes in various models of equipment sold and serviced by the distributor
On the Job training will focus on 8 main areas of study; Industry Specific Knowledge, Aggregate Screens, Conveyor and Components, Compression Crushers, Impact Crushers, Mobile Track Crushing & Screening Equipment, Aggregate Washing Equipment, and Power Systems (Diesel, Electric & Controls)
Learns to:
Perform basic field repair and maintenance jobs with minimal supervision
Basic testing knowledge of all machine systems
Repair and recondition all aggregate equipment components and systems
Develops and employs diagnostic related reasoning skills
Attends local, regional, national service schools and training sessions as requested
The Apprentice will need to complete specific classroom studies or instructional training.
Maintains a clean, orderly, and safe working environment both in shop and at customer job sites
Maintains and cares for shop tools, equipment, and vehicles
Completes all paperwork required for jobs
Maintains close, positive working relationships with service, parts and administrative personnel
Conducts himself / herself in the presence of customers in a manner which will retain a good opinion of the company and the service department
Responsible for operating heavy construction equipment in a safe manner
Job Requirements

Industry experience is a plus but is not required
High School Graduate or GED is required
Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license
Possesses or is willing to obtain a CDL License
Must be willing to obtain own hand tools, up to and including a ¾ drive set

Contribution to departmental and product line goals
Must be willing to travel as needed
