Business Overview

Snowboard International is a new magazine, launching for the 2024/25 season. With a global readership (including print distribution in Europe and the US) and a comprehensive online presence, we will deliver high-quality content to inspire and engage snowboarders. Heading up the editorial side of the magazine are the hugely experienced team of Alba Pardo and Stella Pentti.

Job Overview

The Advertising Sales Manager will be responsible for driving revenue growth through the acquisition of new advertising clients and the retention of existing accounts. This role requires a dynamic individual with a passion for sales, a deep understanding of the snowboarding market, and the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients, including all snowboard-related brands and snowboarding resorts. This is a remote position, offering flexibility and the opportunity to work from anywhere ensuring you can maximise your time on the mountain!


Key Responsibilities

  • Liaising with Snowboard Brands: Develop and maintain strong relationships with snowboard-related brands. Understand their marketing needs and provide tailored advertising solutions that align with their brand strategies.
  • Liaising with Snowboard Resorts: Engage with snowboard resorts to explore advertising opportunities, promote their destinations, and create partnerships that benefit both the resorts and Snowboard International.
  • Sales Strategy & Planning: Develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve revenue targets and market penetration goals. Strategies will combine Print, Digital and Gear Test elements to ensure that advertisers are getting comprehensive coverage and exceptional value for their ad spend. 
  • Client Acquisition & Management: Identify, prospect, and secure new advertising clients. Maintain and grow relationships with existing clients to develop long-term partnerships.
  • Market Analysis: Identify trends and opportunities within the snowboarding industry. Utilize insights to inform sales strategies and client pitches.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the editorial, marketing, and design teams to create customized advertising solutions that meet client needs and align with the magazine’s content.
  • Performance Monitoring: Track sales performance metrics and adjust strategies as needed to ensure targets are met.
  • Time Zone Management: Develop and maintain contacts in both Europe and the US, which may require working extended hours to accommodate different time zones.
  • Independent Work & Strategy Development: Work independently to develop and implement your own sales strategies. Proactively seek new opportunities and create innovative approaches to drive sales.


Essential Requirements 

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in advertising sales, preferably within the snowboard industry. 
  • Industry Contacts: A solid roster of contacts within the snowboarding industry, including brands and resorts, which can be leveraged to drive sales and partnerships.
  • Skills:
  • Strong sales and negotiation skills with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and partners.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret market data and sales metrics.
