Monday - Friday schedulewith traditional shifts
Predictable Schedule: The Monday through Friday schedule provides a consistent routine, allowing the APP to plan personal and professional activities more easily
Weekends Off: Having weekends off allows for time to rest, recharge, and spend quality time with family and friends
Reduced Burnout: A predictable schedule and regular hours can contribute to lower levels of burnout compared to shift work or irregular schedules
Salary Pay Range: $120,000 - $135,000
Job Summary:
The Advanced Practice Provider works in collaboration with, and is an integral member of, our health care team. The APP examines and treats patients independently and in autonomous collaboration with the treating physician. They ensure proper illness and injury care, assist in disease prevention management, diagnosis, treatment, and recovery while seeing patients in clinic and assisting with in-patient needs in the hospital. The APP will also be involved in follow up out-patient visits. The APP will be responsible for supporting the day and evening call schedule when necessitated by physician schedule/hospital needs. They have an advanced level of medical and nursing knowledge, a strong foundation in evidenced based practice/education and provide an environment of safe, quality care for our patients, based on sound clinical judgement, professional communication skills, and timely and appropriate, compliant documentation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Examine, diagnose and treat patients
Order and interpret diagnostic test results to treat a variety of gastrointestinal disease
Assist physician in proper diagnosis and management/treatment of patient
Collect, record, and maintain accurate patient information
Prescribe and administer medications and appropriate therapies
Advise patients of methods of disease prevention, prescribed medication, and health maintenance
Obtain health and medical histories from patients to gain a clear understanding of disorder/disease being treated and appropriate course of action
Maintain an in-depth knowledge of the digestive system, diseases that affect it, and stay current with new developments in the field in order to apply the best possible practices
Travel to outreach locations services by Gastroenterology Associates
Required Skills and Abilities:
Excellent problem-solving skills
Able to multi-task and work quickly, with constantly changing circumstances and priorities
Ability to convey or exchange complex information
Strong computer skills
Excellent interpersonal skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Education and Experience:
Master’s degree preferred
National Board Certification required
BLS certification required
Experience with GI or pain treatment preferred
Proficiency in MS Excel, electronic health systems and databases, such as EPIC, required
Knowledge of GCP, federal, state, and local regulations, including HIPAA policies and procedures
Physical Requirements:
Continually moves around a medical center/healthcare environment 90% of the time
Consistently grasps, moves or assembles small objects
Make quick, precise adjustments and manipulate machines and controls
Consistently uses computers and relays information verbally and through email, messages and phone
Frequently communicates with others and exchanges information on an on-going basis
Must be able to lift/move up to 50 lbs
