Advanced Practice Provider - Creve Coeur, St. Louis

Joseph M. Duvall, MD, board-certified dermatologist, is looking for a motivated physician assistant or nurse practitioner to join his team at VitalSkin Dermatology in Creve Coeur, MO. The ideal candidate is a professional, dependable, adaptable and humble team player who is eager to learn under direct physician supervision.

Dr. Duvall graduated and completed his dermatology residency from the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Medicine. Alongside Dr. Duvall and his highly-trained team, you’ll assist with providing general and cosmetic dermatology services for a growing patient base. This is a full-time position that complements the schedule of the overseeing provider. The scope of practice for this position includes general and cosmetic dermatology.

Specific Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of general and cosmetic dermatology procedures under physician supervision.
• Communicate changes in patient conditions to physician.
• Establish and maintain interpersonal relationships with patients, families and other healthcare personnel, while assuring confidentiality of patient information.
• Demonstrate proficiency and graduated autonomy within scope of general dermatology practice over the course of several months.
• Record patient’s health history in electronic medical record system.
  
  

Minimum Qualifications

• Master’s degree from accredited PA program. Or if an NP, be a registered nurse (RN), hold a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), have completed an NP-focused graduate master’s or doctoral nursing program and have successfully passed a national NP board certification exam.
• Minimum two years of experience as a physician assistant or nurse practitioner in family medicine.
• PA/NP licensure in the state where employed.
• Must have prescriptive authorization.
• Must be proficient with medical instruments and equipment required by the work.
• Communicate effectively, in verbal and written form, with medical partners at various levels, patients, family members, physicians and representatives of the community.
• Sound understanding of all federal and state regulations including HIPAA and OSHA.
• Be positive, open and flexible to learning new skills for various procedures.
• Maintain license through ongoing continuing medical education credits as required.

• Prolonged periods of sitting/standing and working at a computer.
