Job Summary
: Jefferson Community and Technical College Adult Education department has an opening for an English as a Second Language instructor position at Shelby County. This position will teach Tuesday and Thursday 6p.m to 8p.m Total work hours 6 (4 teaching plus 2 hours preparation time).
Job Duties
The primary responsibilities are:
Student intake, assessment analysis.
Provide instruction in English as a Second Language
Provide post-testing to students as required per hours of study.
Prepare instructor and evaluate student’s needs.
Participates in required professional development activities.
Understands and applies privacy law and standards.
Other duties as assigned by Jefferson Community and Technical College Adult Education Director.
This position reports directly to Jefferson Community and Technical College Adult Education Director.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required (Education or related field preferred). Should earn NRS level 6 in TABE 11/12. The individual must be comfortable multi-tasking and organized. This position requires the ability to work in a culturally diverse environment, which consist of frequent contact with a diverse constituency of students, faculty, staff, and the public.
