Admissions Counselor

Waldorf University has an immediate opening for the position of Admission Counselor to join a fun and dynamic team in the Office of Admissions. The Admission Counselor position is essential to supporting the mission and enrollment goals of Waldorf University. This position is responsible for an assigned territory as well as some territories outside of the Midwest. Waldorf University believes in working to ensure a welcoming and an engaging experience from the first interaction through to graduation.

The successful candidate would be engaging, able to work independent yet be a part of a team, able to interact with all types of people and have a fun and positive demeanor.

Responsibilities

Recruiting activities would include visits at both high schools and other universities; representation at university fairs; correspondence by telephone, email, social media and mail; developing and cultivating relationships with prospective students and their families; counsel students and their parents regarding the admissions process; reviewing prospective student application materials for acceptance. Recruiting would primarily be for residential students, however would also be able to assist with and communicate information about our online programs, PSEO and StartPoint programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required and experience in a four year residential University/university preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to work with a wide range of people and commitment to diversity.
• Demonstrated ability to efficiently and effectively to solve problems and initiate and implement projects independently.
• Effective communication and public presentation skills.
• Ability to travel several weeks in the fall and spring and work a varied schedule with flexible hours.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Outlook, Access & Excel.
• Ability to represent the office and the University in a professional manner.
• Maintain a positive attitude that will promote a healthy and fun cultural in Admissions.
• Capability to excel under high-pressure circumstances.
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
