Admissions Counselor

An Admissions Counselor at Hilbert College is responsible for supporting and executing the undergraduate enrollment goals of the institution. The primary tasks would include application review, recruitment territory management and travel (6 - 10 weeks/year), communication with prospective students via a customer relationship management (CRM) software, and participation in all on-campus recruitment events. Additional duties include assisting with in-office processes, data collection, oral presentations, and written communications with prospective students and families.

Job Duties And Responsibilities

  • Effectively manage a recruitment territory.
  • Responsible for planning and executing assigned recruitment events.
  • Participate in high school visits and organize off-campus recruitment activities.
  • Utilize a CRM to communicate with prospective students.
  • Build relationships and prepare correspondence to high school and community college counselors, administrators, and prospective students and their families.
  • Review student applications for consideration for admission to Hilbert College.
  • Consult with students by phone, e-mail, text, and in person.
  • Provide campus tours and arrange visit itineraries.
  • Evaluate previous college credits earned by applicants for transferability to Hilbert.
  • Assist with other Admissions responsibilities such as the student ambassador program, social media strategy, or liaison with specific departments.
  • Serve as mentor to student ambassadors, supervise work-study activity.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • Flexibility to travel and ability to work some nights and weekends.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships.
  • Familiarity with all campus services, policies and regulations.
  • Good administrative and organization skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in large and small groups.
  • Strong oral and communication skills.
  • Ability to work with others as part of a team and within a set budget.
  • Strong computer skills; proficiency using MS Word, MS Excel and the internet.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with all campus constituents.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Valid driver’s license
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Admissions experience a plus

Compensation: $42,000 - $45,000
