Basic Function

Responsible for the coordination of recruitment and admission for Day Student placement at Waterford Country School. Serves as the liaison between Education and Boarding for boarding admissions.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Review referral packet information for potential day students and therapeutic students to determine the appropriateness of the placement based upon educational needs/services and space availability.
  • Maintain ongoing participation in all aspects of the preplacement process to assess the appropriateness of the placement based upon education needs/services.
  • Schedule and lead the pre-placement visits for potential day students.
  • Participate in the pre-placements visits for potential therapeutic boarding students.
  • Attend all placement PPTs for Day and Therapeutic students.
  • Obtain all past school records to collect and quantify all earned credits for students.

Other

  • Maintain effective communication with students and colleagues.
  • Maintain knowledge of and follows Agency procedures as contained in the WCS Personnel Handbook, WCS Procedure Manual, and other Agency manuals.
  • Function as a positive role model for all students and staff at Waterford Country School.
  • Practice within agency models (e.g. CARE, TCI, and Health & Wellness), supporting the therapeutic milieu at Waterford Country School for clients, Agency staff, volunteers and stakeholders.
  • Maintain awareness of and sensitivity to the cultural differences present among clients and staff of WCS; and ensures that, through both personal interactions and the development and implementation of Agency programs, cultural needs are respected and supported, and the delivery of services and staff functioning is free from any form of cultural, religious, racial, or sexual insensitivity or bias.
  • Attend all scheduled Education Department Staff meetings.
  • Participate in other Educational and Interdisciplinary Committees as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the principal or their designee.

Limited Telework Capability

Limited ability to work remotely in necessary circumstances as approved by a direct Supervisor, or in the event of a declared weather or other emergency. Telework should be performed in accordance with the Remote Work Policy in the WCS Personnel Handbook.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree. Knowledge and experience with IEP students and services. Experience in Special Education preferred.
