Job Description
Under the direction of the manager and with the guidance of the Private Banking Officer, this position is responsible for supporting and retaining comprehensive relationships with clients meeting the net worth, income and profitability profiles of their identified market segment within the Private Banking Group. Provides support in building deeper client relationships through the sale and administration of credit, deposit, and investment agency products and services and in the manner that ensures compliance with all applicable regulations, policies, and procedures. Assists in business unit’s compliance with applicable laws, regulations, regulatory requirements and Bank policies and procedures, including but not limited to those related to Fair Banking, Anti-Money Laundering laws and regulations, Bank Secrecy Act and USA PATRIOT Act. In addition, this position is responsible for demonstrating the Excellence in Sales/Service (ESS) philosophy by participating in and practicing ESS disciplines and behaviors.
REGISTRATION REQUIREMENT: Registration with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System & Registry. If not yet registered, registration to be completed and accepted no later than 30 days from employment or transfer date. If not registered and accepted, employment may be terminated.

Level II: Minimum 3 years of work experience in the banking or financial services industry in increasingly responsible positions requiring extensive knowledge of general banking products and services including all of the following and not limited to retail and commercial deposit and fee products and other consumer and commercial loan services, residential loans, retirement plans, trust and investment products and services or equivalent work experience.

Responsibilities
- Provides support to the Private Banking Officer in retention, growth and profitability of assigned client relationships. Comprehends breadth of all products and services. Independently calls on clients to establish, maintain and expand relationships, including the sales of deposit, credit, investment and related services and focuses on retention and deepening relationships.
- Provides exceptional service and support for assigned Private Banking Officer and overall Team as a unit to meet servicing and sales objectives such as calling activities and pipeline management. Proactively schedules appointments for Private Banking Officer utilizing Outlook. Handles all client contacts and calls proficiently and effectively. Integrates job responsibilities within the bank and trust to maintain the highest level of client service to meet Bank of Hawaii’s standards.
- Supports Private Banking Officer in the administration and adherence to regulatory and compliance requirements, policies and procedures related to bank depository, credit facilities and investment agency accounts. Complies with all consumer laws and regulations to include but not limited to Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Customer Identification (CIP), Information Security Protection, etc. and adheres to all policies and procedures to ensure regulatory requirements are met. Adheres to Bank of Hawaii Employee Code of Business Conduct and Ethics. Actively participates in all required corporate and business line training. Participates in internal audits, FRB BSA Safety and Soundness Examination, Wealth Management Examination, and examinations for compliance with Regulation O and SOX as required. Responsible for keeping informed of all current bank policies and procedures.
- Establishes new accounts and receives and processes deposits, withdrawals, wire transfers and other requests. Handles all research and resolves client problems and initiates corrective action to ensure complete client satisfaction. Exercises prudent and judicious use of signing authority within authorized limits to approve daily work. Reviews loan documentation to ensure compliance.
- Coordinates loan documentation, booking and execution and processes disbursement and payments. Follows-up on loan portfolio documentation to ensure timely submission of credit renewals and requests. Approves daily overdraft within designated authority.
- Performs all other miscellaneous responsibilities and duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Education: College degree or equivalent work experience.
- Experience:
Level II: Minimum 3 years of work experience in the banking or financial services industry in increasingly responsible positions requiring extensive knowledge of general banking products and services including all of the following and not limited to retail and commercial deposit and fee products and other consumer and commercial loan services, residential loans, retirement plans, trust and investment products and services or equivalent work experience.
- Technical Skills: Demonstrated proficiency with personal computers in a networked environment and Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) or similar software. Knowledge of or ability to use Bank software and systems.
- Other Job Qualifications: Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills. Must be analytical, detail oriented, organized. Must be able to meet deadlines and handle multiple priorities. Uses initiative to work in a high pressure work environment with minimal supervision. Adapts quickly and can willingly embrace change. Always follows through and follows up. Focus is to always provide supervisor customer service. Able to work flexible hours including holidays, weekends and evenings as needed or assigned. Must be able to provide own transportation or to operate a vehicle with a valid driver’s license, and commute as required.
