Adjunct Lecturer, Business Communications (Part Time) (Multiple Positions)

Position HighlightsThe Eller College of Management is seeking applicants for a part-time Adjunct Lecturers in the Business Communications Program. This is a non-tenure track teaching position, with the responsibility of teaching one or two core undergraduate business communication courses (in-person) beginning in the Fall 2024 semester. Initial instruction will be limited to the Fall semester (8/19/24-1/05/25) only, with the possibility of additional teaching assignments in future semesters dependent upon department need. The Business Communication Program provides an enriched learning experience for future business leaders to manage the complex and rapidly changing communication needs in the global marketplace. Students in our program develop their competence and expertise in oral presentation, business writing, professional development, interpersonal communication, and team dynamics — key areas where skill base is crucial for professional success.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Teach one or two sections (in-person) of an undergraduate Business Communication course.
  • Coach and mentor students in business writing, oral presentations, and professional development.
  • Maintain regularly scheduled office hours.
  • Meet and contribute regularly as part of an interdisciplinary faculty team.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs)

  • Knowledge in relevant professional expertise working in a corporate setting.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master's degree in English, Communication, Business, or a related field OR Bachelor's degree in English, Communication, Business, or related field and five years of professional expertise and managerial experience in a business setting.
  • Must be available to teach, in-person at the University of Arizona in Tucson.

Preferred Qualifications

  • PhD in English, Communication, Business, or a related field.
  • Experience teaching business or technical writing or management communication.
  • Experience teaching in online or digital environments.
  • Track record of success working with international audiences, including coaching international students on their professional English writing and speaking skills.
