BASIC FUNCTION: The adjunct faculty (lecturer) will teach courses in the School of Social Work. Adjunct faculty may also implement special assignments such as developing lectures, conducting seminars and serving other administrative roles within the School.

Principal Accountabilities
Developing, delivering, reviewing and updating course material and syllabi.
Creating a learning environment (in-person or virtual) where students feel comfortable participating and learning.
Contributing to the development of teaching enhancements and innovations.
Performing administrative requirements such as recording class attendance and submitting grades in a timely manner.
Preparing students for licensing exams through the course content.
Providing access to students for office hour appointments.
Collecting assessment data as required by the School of Social Work.
Participating in key School and University events and committees.
Demonstrating the ability to contribute to the School’s research and scholarly activities.
Participating in professional development activities and staying abreast of current advancements in the field.
Core Competencies
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
A Master’s or Ph.D. in Social Work or expertise related to course content. Post-masters’ work/social work practice experience. Superb interpersonal, observational, and communication skills. Strong desire to engage and motivate emerging social work practitioners. Solid understanding of the role of social work in interprofessional settings.
