Position Summary

Join our team to educate and inspire students through online courses in the field of Health Informatics.

Principal Duties And Responsibilities

Engage in instructor orientation and training sessions.

Review course materials thoroughly for instructional purposes.

Prepare online course modules and textbooks ahead of term commencement.

Maintain and update online courses prior to each term, ensuring accurate information and clear communication channels.

Establish virtual office hours to provide accessible support to students.

Furnish students with contact information for seamless communication.

Develop and publish course syllabi using Simple Syllabus software, including office hours and contact details.

Deliver personalized welcome messages for each course.

Conduct engaging online instruction for all assigned courses.

Post announcements for each module within the course.

Facilitate meaningful interaction between students and instructors.

Actively participate in discussion boards and related activities.

Infuse real-world career examples into course discussions and assignments.

Assess assignments according to established grading criteria.

Offer constructive feedback on assignments and activities.

Collaborate with academic support services for student success.

Ensure timely return of grades and responsiveness to student queries.

Adhere to set deadlines for grade submissions.

Employ technology to enhance student engagement and learning experience.

Stay updated on best practices in online education.

Provide valuable feedback for course improvement and innovation.

Collaborate with relevant departments for student accommodations.

Exemplify the university's values and ethics.

Adhere to institutional policies and guidelines.

Maintain student confidentiality as per regulations.

Attend required faculty meetings.

Fulfill other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Master's degree in Health Informatics or a related field (Preference for terminal degree)

Relevant work experience in Health Informatics

Online Teaching Experience Required

Minimum one year of teaching experience at college or graduate level

Physical Demands

Requires prolonged sitting and computer use

Ability to lift objects up to 30 pounds occasionally

Visual acuity for computer work and safety purposes

Work Environment

Typical office environment with moderate noise levels
